Big Time in the USA

My vote is important, as yours is. It is time to vote in Tennessee, where I live, and I take that seriously. We need a new direction in our country. I agree with Newt that Obama is a danger to our national security. His team doesn't know how to handle international affairs, and as reported today from Jerusalem by former Presidential canidadate Mike Huckabee, this administration looks weak.

Gov. Huckabee outlined a few reasons why Obama looks weak, and one that stuck with me was the position he and his staff have chosen to believe about the leader of Iran, Ahmadinejad. This man was said to be dealing from a sane position, to paraphrase the Obama administration, and this man is as crazy as they come. The saddest proclamation is about the Jews and the Holocaust, calling it a fraud, a farce. The Islamist can lie to further any goal of Islam, and this man has the lying down pat. You don't deal, believe, or trust crazy people. Obama is that kind of man to think he can talk with a mad man.

So, back to the USA. We have an election this year, and I can't wait to support the candidate who will run against Obama. I'll vote my "druthers" in the primary, and vote for the sanity, safety, and security of America in November by pulling the "R" lever with great levity.

God bless the USA.

New Chapter Starting

Haven't put anything on here in QUITE a while. When Ken and I joined FaceBook, it seemed the perfect place to post my rantings since others would see it there, but I do miss the freedom of having my own blog location and keeping a so-called journal here where it doesn't fly off the page in a few minutes from all the updates I get in that marketplace, that arena of ideas, jokes, and the such.

It was a big weekend for me, here in Tenn. I love politics and was elected to 2nd Vice President of the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women. I was so honored to be slated for that position and ecstatic to win it. I hope, I really do hope, to make them proud. So, I'm off on this 2-year journey of serving a group of women, who I love dearly, and all the hopes and dreams one has for a new-found position have taken root. Here's hoping the roots grow a strong tree to influence my world for the better. Thank you, Lord, for leading, guiding, and directing this path I am on in life; it truly has been a great adventure.

Nehemiah 2:2
So the king said to me, "Why is your face sad though you are not sick? This is nothing but sadness of heart." Then I was very much afraid.

I hate conflict and turmoil within relationships. Some days you just have them, though. It is good to have a King who asks of you about your sadness of heart. The "afraid" part for us today in Nehemiah's passage is telling the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob about your troubled heart. As C.S. Lewis described the Lion in the Chronicles of Narnia,
"Safe?" said Mr. Beaver; "don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you." --Mr. Beaver to the Pevensie Children, LWW

John 10:10
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

So, God does not promise a "safe" ride through life, He does promise an abundant life... and to be before us and behind as we walk through it. I am trusting in what He says. He is the living water, and I want to be drenched within that.

May Days

The days have been passing quickly as we have made our move to Tennessee from North Carolina many moons ago. Our home there is still for sale, so we wait patiently in our family's lake home, where we have established ourselves. We voted this month here in the primary just to show we voted. Franklin County is chock full of Democrats, a hold-out since there are no talk radio stations you can effectively listen to here that would harken the happenings in the country and world to this big, country county. I wish that would change.

Most of the people here are conservative and good folks, so they just continue in a vein of what their ancestors did. It is hard for me to imagine that someone would remain a Democrat if they are conservative. The Democrat Party is so liberal, so socialist, so regime-minded, that the middle-Tennessee lives that were lost in wars whose souls are in heaven have to be looking down on this patch of earth wondering what in the world their prodigy is thinking and doing. They fought for a land that was free, not this land of the taxed and only pittances coming back. The leadership the USA is seeing is so beyond the thinking of an average person... in that, it is beyond reasonable, it is beyond common sense, it is beyond any semblances of rightness. My mantra for most of this year is taken from Sarah Palin's comment on seeing Russia from her front door, "I can see NOVEMBER from my house."

Well, the May days are beautiful. The birds are singing, the critters are playing outside, and the berries on the bushes are growing. I hope we can have a sunny spot in the day today or tomorrow to take my sweet, little girl to pick some strawberries for her first time and to enjoy the beauty this part of the earth gives, despite, of course, the ugliness of these times. We celebrate life with our precious gift of a daughter every day, and that is the greatest gift from God we could have.

To Speak the Name of God

We play Veggie Tales videos for our 3 year old daughter, and she loves them. I love to hear her sing since she is just developing that skill and it is so precious to hear her try! What was beyond precious was to hear her sing, "a message from the Lord," from the "Jonah" movie. The word, "Lord," was pronounced more like "Ward," but it was so beautiful and pure to hear coming from her that it made me think how much more God loved hearing His name from her, far more warming to Him than it could ever have warmed my heart.

When she sweetly calls me "Mommy," it is a tenuous, fleeting joy to hear and a parent loves to hear that. My wonderment was in how much more does God love to hear us call on Him? I've taken Bible studies about the names of God, and that is an incredible undertaking anyone should make, and His names evoke majesty, deep love, and justice, to name a few! Moreover, He has names so that we can use them. He wants to hear His name, I am positive, from us, in a way that brings joy to Him. To say, speak, sing His name and mean it, like speaking to one you love after a long time, has to be pleasing to our Maker. He loves us and wants a relationship with us. As you know, your name spoken from the lips of someone who loves you is sweetness and light inside you.

My hope is that these thoughts will draw you closer to the One who made you. He wants to hear from you and have a relationship with you. Jesus Christ provides that by having been a sacrifice and making a way that we can go, with awe and respect, boldly before the throne of God. (Hebrews 10:19) God has a plan and a purpose for your life, it would be great to talk to Him about it! He is waiting to hear His name from your lips.

Truth, Justice, and the American Way

Did you ever notice when the liberal, Hollywood types took out the saying "the American way," the part Superman would proudly utter in his familiar motto of why he fought the bad guys... "for truth, justice, and the American way"? Well, the American "way" seems to be a thing of the past, Stalin's "way" seems to be the thing for the here and now, and President Obama and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi mean that socialistic way and mean it NOW. They have already put their hooks into the banks, big American auto makers, and now are about to sink their teeth into 1/6 of our economy, the medical/health insurance industry. Their claws are raking and their bite is deep and that translates into the big sucking sound you will hear out of your wallet.

Wake up America. Vote for anyone who has a proven record of Conservative values. Vote for anyone who has the stomach to say "no" to the plethora of hands out for more and more money. Vote for anyone who will do anything to save you on tax money... those are the ones who will cut the needed dollars out of a bloated system. We do have a safety net, people, and that will not go away for those in need. We just don't need to spend our money on socialism and the non-American way! Get active; get involved.

If loose lips sink ships, then VP Joe Biden will sink our navy and our allies'. With Obama's spending and Biden's gaffes, I think I'm witnessing the movie, "Dumb and Dumber."
