Not McCain! or Huckabee.

Please, people, not McCain! He is moderate to liberal, not what we need! I can't even imagine who he would put into a Justice's seat, when needed, when he has done work against the 1st amendment with the McCain-Feingold bill!! He will be worse than Bush when it comes to pushing through Conservative legislation, using the Bully pulpit effectively, and signing Conservative legislation.
We need the most Conservative person at the head of the Republican ticket! It is vital. Mike Huckabee might learn to be more Conservative as he goes along, but I'm not betting on that or taking my chances. He is lacking in knowledge and has showed that on national and global issues, like bringing the Guantanamo detainees to U.S. soil. Huckabee showed his ignorance in the ABC debate on the laws that would then govern those detainees. I, a lowly on-looker, knew the folly that could bring. Fred Thompson had the best diatribe on Huckabee and his record in a small synopsis at the last FoxNews debate in SC.
Fred Thompson is the best. He just didn't show any enthusiasm until the debate in SC. It seemed he was doing all of this as a present for his wife or something. Nonetheless, he showed that he, by far, was the intelligent choice, the one who understands what is needed for our country.
McCain has had a horrible track record on Conservative issues. McCain-Feingold, the Gang of 14, a showing of temperment that is not Presidential, and that horrible, cheesy smile he gives accompanied with that wink. If voters thought Bob Dole was too old, I can't see where they would find a difference here.

Time Flies. Life Update

Just posted a new blog entry, but realized I need to update this place on what is going on with our family!

The boy we had in our care was adopted with his two sisters! God is gracious. I pray all goes well with them. About the time all that happened, Summer of 2006, a different baby, other than the one we had and left shortly after I posted so long ago, was born. This next baby, she came to us and became our daughter, officially ours in October 2007. We can't begin to say how we are so deeply blessed.

Otherwise, we have just been doing as much as we can outside of taking care of our wee one. Church and community are important to us, so you see us involved in both. Politics is our "sport," so this year is a big one for us. So, let the blog entries begin, especially on national politics.

Sid "Vicious" Blumenthal arrested

Wow... 70 miles an hour (or more?) in a 35 mph zone while allegedly driving drunk. Do you think it is interesting that no one heard about this on the day of the NH primary since it happened the night before... you know he is an advisor to that crying woman running for President?

So, Sid Vicious, the one who sued Drudge, the one who attacked the Arkansas State Troopers for the Clintons, the one who many readers responded with glee to the article about his arrest for Aggravated DWI, is the one who will possibly face a few days in jail. The people who commented after this article were incredibly tough on Sidney... and I couldn't be happier to see that someone remembers. The saddest part, and one that always makes my heart droop, is the bloggers who recanted how their loved ones have been killed by drunk drivers. Here is the article, postings follow it:

I would like to see what "DocPolitic" said come to fruition: "Forget the booking photo...I'd love to see the failed sobriety test! It's got to be on video...."

Mark my words, however, that he will plead a deal to get no jail time. In my opinion he should face whatever the maximum sentence is allowed under New Hampshire law. My guess is that he will weasel his way out of it somehow.
